McKinstry Expands Distributed Energy Resource Services to the East Coast
Electrons power our facilities and communities across the country. As we work to electrify everything, the need for more electrons is projected to outpace available capacity within our grid. That makes distributed energy resources (DER) critical for the future of our clients and overarching built environment.
To accelerate development, McKinstry is expanding DER services to the East Coast with a dedicated team tied to large-scale renewable energy deployment.
The East Coast is home to dense urban centers, aginginfrastructureand ambitious clean energy goals. Clients in this region are looking for partners who can deliver innovative, scalable solutions. We are ready to meet that challenge. By building a dedicated East Coast team, we are not only complementing our strong presence in the West. We are creating a truly national DER platform that brings us closer to the communities we serve.
To accelerate our East Coast strategy, we’re thrilled to welcome two seasoned leaders:
Michael Puckett will lead the East Coast DER business. Puckett brings more than 15 years of experience in distributed energy, including nationwide origination for NextEra’s Distributed Generation group. Based in North Carolina, Puckett combines deep technical expertise with a passion for building strong client relationships and advancing renewable energy solutions.
Joe Busch will oversee operations, development and construction for the East Coast DER team. Busch brings two decades of experience in renewable energy, including leadership in large-scale solar and energy storage projects. Busch’s background spans project development, construction, asset management and finance. These skills will be critical as McKinstry scales efforts in this region.
Together, Puckett and Busch will work alongside our existing team to deliver innovative DER solutions that help clients achieve sustainability goals while strengthening the grid. By combining localexpertisewith McKinstry’s national resources, we are creating a platform for growth thatbenefitsour clients,communitiesand the planet. From solar and storage to advanced energy management, we are ready to help the East lead the way toward a cleaner, more resilient future.
