Martin Naydenov: Advancing Electrical Engineering through Embracing Culture

“I’ve led teams for years, and I believe recognizing and valuing people is essential to effective leadership and helping teams succeed,” said Martin.

Coming from a family of engineers, Martin grew up surrounded by a passion for design and problem-solving, which he carried into his professional career. With a background working on semiconductor and data center projects, Martin’s experience in complex power systems, redundancy and uptime requirements aligns well with the growing data center work McKinstry is designing and delivering. With this combination of expertise and opportunity, Martin sees the need for creating future-focused solutions in the data center industry. He believes his team can be part of designing these solutions, particularly through McKinstry’s design-build methodology.

“I come from a consulting background and have been part of a number of design-build projects, but this is something different that is a true collaboration as OneTeam,” said Martin. “It’s about being able to provide the full product with efficiency and client care, and positioning McKinstry as a true market differentiator.”

“Electrical engineering is supporting all efforts across the engineering department, as well as many different groups across McKinstry. We touch almost every niche and market out there,” said Martin. “With that in mind, we tend to be involved across different types of work and projects. It’s encouraging to see different business groups support one another as one company and work through diverse challenges with a common goal of creating a successful environment for collaboration.”

As McKinstry continues expanding its work in data centers and other complex facilities, Martin sees an opportunity for electrical engineering to play an even greater role in shaping the future of the built environment.
