McKinstry Celebrates the Grand Opening of Its Manufacturing Facility in Spokane, WA

A new 68,000 sq. ft. facility will enhance McKinstry’s manufacturing capabilities, including modular and comprehensive prefabrication

On February 8th, 2024, McKinstry hosted a grand opening ceremony for its new manufacturing facility in Spokane, Washington. The event was attended by various business leaders in the area, including McKinstry’s CEO Dean Allen, McKinstry VP of Mechanical Construction Thomas Tellefson and Greater Spokane Inc.’s CEO Alisha Benson, along with other community members, partners and employees.

The new facility, located at 9470 W 21st Ave, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing center that will enable McKinstry to produce prefabricated and modular components for its projects across the country. The shop produces sheet metal, piping and plumbing materials and systems by union professionals, continuing a long history of trusted union partnerships in the Spokane area, and is designed around our Zero-Carbon Future goal, operating as an all-electric facility with EV infrastructure for electric fleet vehicles.

During the ceremony, the speakers highlighted the benefits of the new facility for the Spokane community, the construction industry, and the environment:

The grand opening ceremony also featured a tour of the facility, where the guests could see the equipment and processes that McKinstry uses to produce its prefabricated and modular components. One of the examples showcased was an equipment skid for a mechanical control unit, which can be assembled and tested in the facility before being shipped to the project site. This reduces the installation time, labor and waste on site and ensures a higher level of quality and performance.

McKinstry’s new manufacturing facility in Spokane is a milestone in the company’s history and a sign of its future direction. It reflects McKinstry’s dedication to innovation, excellence and impact in the construction industry and the communities it serves. It also represents a significant investment in the Spokane region, which will benefit from the jobs, revenue and environmental benefits that the facility will generate. McKinstry is proud to be a part of the Spokane community and looks forward to many more years of collaboration and growth.
