Colorado School of Mines: Shaping an Innovative Campus
Colorado School of Mines is a STEM-focused public research university tackling today’s major challenges in energy, the environment and sustainability. Since 2009, Mines and McKinstry have partnered to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency. McKinstry has led campus-wide energy audits, an Energy Savings Performance Contract and a powerED program to promote conservation. Most recently, Mines and McKinstry collaborated on a solar PV project to offset campus energy use.
Mines has partnered with McKinstry to implement over $20 million in campus improvements, generating $1.5 million in annual energy savings, allowing the university to reinvest in academic programs, research and student experiences, reinforcing its long-term growth strategy.
Beyond infrastructure improvements, the partnership between Mines and McKinstry has also provided students with hands-on learning experiences.
