Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington

Harborview Medical Center (HMC) is a 3.3 million square foot facility in Seattle that operates as a five-state regional level-1 trauma center, a nationally renowned Regional Burn Center and Research Facility and as a teaching facility for the University of Washington Medical Center.

Our partnership, which has spanned over 13 years, allows HMC staff to accurately evaluate their critical systems, identify and mitigate risks to their mission and improve the performance of their facilities, all while reducing utility consumption and cost.

Over the years, McKinstry has performed hundreds of successful healthcare projects on the campus; our integrated team of engineers, mechanical-electrical-fire protection experts, energy professionals and service staff understand the balance between facility operations and the need for system upgrades.

McKinstry’s partnership with HMC has resulted in a sustained 11% reduction in energy costs while countless facility projects have increased capacity to better enable their mission to serve a diverse and growing patient population.
