Armstrong World Industries And Overcast Innovations Enter Strategic Partnership To Improve Building Performance With Innovative Ceiling Solutions

Formal partnership integrates Armstrong products within Overcast Clouds, expanding options for buildings to optimize performance while streamlining supply chain, jobsite logistics and reducing installation costs

LANCASTER, PA., and SEATTLE – Armstrong World Industries (Armstrong) and Overcast Innovations, a McKinstry venture, entered a strategic partnership agreement that incorporates Overcast’s intelligent, integrated and modular ceiling solutions into Armstrong’s family of ceiling products with a focus on delivering better-performing spaces. The agreement also incorporates Armstrong ceiling system products within Overcast manufactured solutions. The result makes it easier for Armstrong and Overcast clients to leverage manufactured ceiling solutions to optimize construction logistics and costs as well as ongoing building operations.

“Partnering with McKinstry on a venture like Overcast is an important step for Armstrong as we work to meet the intensifying needs within the commercial construction industry for healthy buildings, sustainability and construction efficiency with more innovative, technology-driven solutions,” said AWI CEO and president Vic Grizzle. “Bringing together industry-leading Armstrong ceiling systems with Overcast’s pioneering, integrated modular ceiling design offers unique and sustainable solutions focused on key IEQ areas of air quality, lighting, acoustics and thermal comfort along with energy and construction efficiency. This is a great example of how collaboration within our industry can advance critical, sustainable solutions for the built environment.”

Through this partnership, Overcast Innovations’ family of integrated and modular ceiling solutions will enhance Armstrong’s ceiling solution offerings in creating positive change within the built environment. The shared goal of creating well-designed spaces reflective of indoor environmental quality is shown by driving out inefficiency and waste, innovating the supply chain and reducing time and financial waste without loss to function or design.

“With this partnership and the trust that Armstrong has put in Overcast, we are entering the next phase of innovative ceiling solutions and design,” said Robb Andrade, Managing Director of Overcast Innovations. “Our mutual goal of providing better air quality, optimal lighting and thoughtful acoustics creates a natural partnership opportunity that couldn’t be missed.”

Overcast ceiling systems are designed, manufactured and delivered to the specifications needed for each project, making them the optimal integrated and modular ceiling solution for every space. In addition to Overcast’s flexible plug-and-play Cloud system, new options will be released that were specifically selected for the positive outcomes that they provide for the space occupant’s mental and physical health while providing an innovative ceiling solution that aligns with the design aesthetic.
