Building Beaver Dams with Sageland Collaborative in Utah

Beaver dams! They’re critical in balancing our built and natural environments. That’s why our team in Salt Lake City worked alongside Sageland Collaborative in Utah to build analog beaver dams.

Our team spent a beautiful day building beaver dams, which help raise water tables, increase water retention in ponds and encourage the release of water over longer dry periods. Their efforts improved water quality, conserved biodiversity and habitat, provided recreation opportunities, absorbed floodwaters and aided wildlife habitat recovery.
