Kirkland Urban in Kirkland, Washington

Kirkland Urban is a new mixed-use office, retail and residential center located in the heart of Kirkland, Washington.

McKinstry provided core and shell electrical and low voltage systems for the complex’s Building E (seven-story, office/retail) and Building F (eight-story, office/retail). Services included power, lighting, fire alarm, security, distributed antenna systems (DAS), public safety radio, wireless and systems commissioning. Proper steps were taken and documented to ensure the building owner could obtain their LEED Gold status using LEED v3 certification.

For these projects, good working relationships had to be established with multiple contractor teams, including those for other structures on the 12-acre complex.  Running power supply from the garage to and throughout Buildings E and F while providing differing amperage given residential, retail or commercial space took working with multiple contractor teams, the local utility company and contracted tenants.

Implementing McKinstry’s Culture of Safety

Due to our dedication and commitment to upholding our safety values, we were recognized by Ryan Companies as their Safety Subcontractor of the Year.
