McKinstry Opens Larger Tri-Cities Office and Regional Fabrication Shop

McKinstry expands regional hub to serve clients across Southeastern Washington and Eastern Oregon

PASCO, Wash. (Sept. 24, 2019) — McKinstry reinforced its commitment to the Tri-Cities region by opening a larger office in Pasco, Wash. The larger office will accommodate McKinstry growth and the future buildout of a 10,000 square-foot fabrication shop to serve the greater Columbia Basin across Southeastern Washington and Eastern Oregon.

McKinstry first opened a Tri-Cities office in 2012 to provide critical construction and energy services for clients in healthcare, data center, food and agriculture, industrial and other markets. The new, larger Pasco office will house more McKinstry staff and serve as a regional hub to coordinate project teams and jobsite operations across the region.

McKinstry has long served clients in the Tri-Cities region with an emphasis on construction and deep energy retrofits. Darigold turned to McKinstry to design and install mechanical systems as part of its ongoing expansion in Sunnyside, Wash. The effort kept the Sunnyside plant operating smoothly while saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process. Darigold has turned to McKinstry as a client since 1960. McKinstry has also performed ongoing energy retrofits and upgrades across the Washington State University Tri-Cities campus, including a recent boiler upgrade in the Elson Floyd Building.

“Construction remains a major economic engine for the Tri-Cities region, accounting for more than 10,500 jobs,” said Pat Roberts, director of mechanical construction for McKinstry’s Inland Northwest region. “McKinstry relies on this amazing talent pool to drive high-performing building projects. Expanding our presence in the Tri-Cities gives us access to the region’s best talent to benefit our clients and our projects across the Northwest.”

The larger Pasco office space includes 10,000 square feet ideally suited for a dedicated fabrication and manufacturing facility. McKinstry’s regional fabrication shop network allows the company to move equipment manufacturing closer to area jobsites. McKinstry manufactures and assembles mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in offsite fabrication shops to increase quality, safety and cost-savings through a controlled, purpose-built environment. The Pasco fabrication shop will specialize in heavy-gauge steel and sheet metal along with kitting space for packaging, assembly and last-mile delivery.

A McKinstry open house is planned for Tuesday Oct. 22, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to celebrate the new office at 5702 Industrial Way, Suite 102, in Pasco, Wash. The public is invited to attend. Please RSVP to [email protected].
