My career advice is to start in the field absorbing as much information as you can. Once you have learned the business pains for a couple years, start gearing your training towards where you want to go. If you see a real business need and believe you have the skillsets to solve it, don’t let the corporate structure get in the way. Propose a new job role and outline how it will serve the business needs.
