Food Lifeline

Since 2016, McKinstry has proudly partnered with Food Lifeline, sorting thousands of pounds of food to be distributed across Washington. Food Lifeline helps feed individuals and families in need through a network of 350 food banks, shelters, and meal programs, enabling distribution of more than 282,000 meals every single day.

“McKinstry has been an incredible partner. When we moved into our new warehouse, we had to start from scratch to build up our teams of volunteers. McKinstry was one of the few partners that started volunteering with us on a reoccurring basis and helped us build up our volunteer program. With the support from McKinstry volunteers in 2023, we distributed more than 72 million pounds of food.” —Leeann Huntington, Corporate Relations Officer, Food Lifeline

In addition to volunteering support, McKinstry and its Charitable Foundation have donated nearly $65,000 to Food Lifeline since 2016. This included grants to support volunteer recruitment and training and to source food during the COVID-19 pandemic when food donations plummeted and food insecurity skyrocketed. McKinstry employees have donated shelf-stable food for individuals and families during their annual holiday canned food drives including 345 pounds of food in the 2023 drive.

Impact: In the last eight years, McKinstry staff have contributed nearly 2,200 service hours at Food Lifeline
