McKinstry Receives Official Energy Service Company Accreditation Renewal From NAESCO
SEATTLE, WA — McKinstry earned official energy service company (ESCO) accreditation renewal from the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO). NAESCO is the leading national trade organization representing and promoting the energy efficiency industry in the energy marketplace, the media and the government both at the state and federal levels.Companies seeking NAESCO-Accredited status must apply to a committee of industry experts — who are unaffiliated with any Energy Service Company (ESCO) or any other company under consideration for accreditation — and then undergo a rigorous examination of their past projects involving careful review of project deliverables and consultation with selected customer references.
“Our accreditation renewal only further validates our engineering-focused approach,” said Brian Floyd, executive vice president, energy and technical services. “We are able to leverage our in-house expertise in engineering, lighting, renewables, commissioning and zero carbon design, along with our external partners to bring reliable, high performing solutions to our customers.”
NAESCO accreditation demonstrates McKinstry’s prowess in delivering energy services across the U.S. Specifically, McKinstry was determined to possess the following qualifications by NAESCO:
- The technical and managerial competence to develop comprehensive energy efficiency projects, with acceptable comprehensiveness defined to include lighting measures; efficient motors and drives; and measures involving heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems;
- The technical and managerial competence to provide a full range of energy services, with acceptable range of services defined to include conducting energy audits; providing or arranging for project financing; design engineering; providing operations and maintenance services; and verifying energy savings according to accepted industry practice; and
- The regular business practice of developing performance-based projects, with the term “performance-based projects” defined to mean projects for which McKinstry’s compensation is contingent upon the projects realizing verified cost savings.
McKinstry’s NAESCO accreditation will remain in effect until November of 2026 before renewal.
