The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is seeking a proactive and strategic thinker for the role of Director of Accounts Receivable. As a key leader within our finance department, you will spearhead billing, cash, and collections activities, ensuring alignment with McKinstry’s overarching strategic objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include devising and executing strategies to optimize cash flows, drive operational excellence, and cultivate a culture of continuous team development and stakeholder satisfaction. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement billing, cash, and collections strategy aligned with McKinstry’s evolving business objectives
  • Maximize cash flow through consultation with business leaders and influencing positive changes in operations
  • Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices for compliance.
  • Proactively support the Controller in evolving business initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee end-to-end billing, cash, and collections processes, including systems, policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for digital innovation, process improvement, and automation.
  • Evaluate department performance through key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Provide regular feedback, recommendations, and reporting to senior leadership

Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of billing, cash, and collections professionals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop value-add staff development and training plans.
  • Manage risks and contingencies, including succession planning

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in billing and collections, with a minimum of 3 years in leadership roles developing functional managers and large teams of specialists.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in accounts receivable management, billing systems, collections processes, and revenue cycle management.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful billing and collections strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, capable of leading and inspiring teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, adept at driving data-driven insights and actions.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex and cross-functional billing and collections projects, focusing on agile delivery and customer-centricity.
  • Experience in digital innovation, process improvement, automation, and standardization of billing and collections operations, utilizing best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Highly adaptable, flexible, and resilient, thriving in fast-paced and changing environments.
  • Proficient in change management, able to drive and facilitate organizational and cultural change.

The pay range for this position is $99,270- $169,900 per year; however, base pay offered my vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
