The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a Director of Facilities and Workspace Solutions to join our Facility Operations team. If you have experience in facilities management, have knowledge of building systems and can think cross-functionally, then this may be the job for you.  In this role, you will provide a consistent workspace experience and environment that is most conducive to employee success. This includes facility management services for McKinstry owned and occupied properties as well as services and amenities for all leased locations. You will also provide leadership, direction, and integrated strategy for the enterprise campus planning and development including space planning, construction, and all efforts relating to sustainability management.

Business Operations and Strategy Planning:

As the Director of Facilities and Workspace Solutions, you will develop an integrated and long-range strategy for facilities planning and construction. In partnership with other leaders across the company, you will develop a long-term vision for space planning. This includes bringing innovative space ideas to fruition while also working in partnership with Procurement to develop cost saving economies of scale. Additionally, you will drive planning and implementation of company’s environmental stewardship efforts in our facilities including the reduction in use of energy and resources and recommending innovative solutions for increased sustainability.

Team Leadership:

Communication skills will take you far in the role as you provide management, development, and support for direct reports and the extended team. You will also maintain positive employee and labor relations and the ongoing training programs and certifications of facility staff.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Minimum of ten years facility management in a supervisory role managing multiple assets with a portfolio size of 750,000 square feet or greater required.
  • Proven facility management competency, including ability to problem solve, drive issues and situations to closure required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with large-scale people moves across multiple assets exceeding 250 headcounts, inclusive of space planning, furniture procurement, workspace set-up and reconfigurations, required.
  • Knowledge of building systems and ability to manage personnel responsible for operation required.
  • Ability to read, scale and mark up drawings required.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) credentials preferred

The pay range for this position is $124,100 - $187,500 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
