The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Business Development Director to our growing Operations and Maintenance division.  This role will lead the NW O&M Business Development function to create and deliver the go-to-market strategy, teams and sales results required to establish and grow McKinstry’s Operate and Maintain annuity and project services regionally throughout the NW. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

Leadership & Management

  • Partnering with the SVP, shape and develop the strategy, plans and tactics required to successfully launch and establish this new business within McKinstry.
  • Partner with leaders and individual contributors across Lines of Business within McKinstry to successfully sell and deliver the outcomes required by customers.
  • Lead business development efforts for Operate and Maintain offerings throughout the NW.
  • Develop and execute strategic market and sales plans required to meet expected revenue, margin, and operating income targets as defined by yearly business plans.
  • Lead sales efforts to drive revenue, margin, and operating income, including achieving individual sales goals as business unit ramps up.
  • Build and maintain relationships with C-Suite levels relationships with strategic clients and amongst industry and community leaders.
  • Represent McKinstry through leadership and participation in professional and community associations and organizations.
  • Recruit, hire, develop and manage high-level strategic sales, account management and other client-facing teams.
  • Set performance goals and conduct performance evaluations for assigned teams.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and motivation to assigned staff.

Market and Business Development

  • Oversee sales operations including lead generation, sales management, and business development tools, processes, and teams.
  • Oversee internal and external marketing efforts and resources, including development and ownership of marketing budgets.
  • Create vertical market tactics; including cooperative selling efforts with sales personnel and leaders throughout McKinstry.
  • Support the sales team in development of sales plans and achievement of sales goals.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Business Development Director required.
  • Ten (10) years of proven success in sales of B2B services preferred, with 5+ years' experience in C-Suite level sales required.
  • 5+ years' experience in the development, leadership and management of successful sales teams preferred.  
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook preferred.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience required.

The pay range for this position is $118,170 - $210,100 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
