McKinstry’s Jesse Sycuro Has Been Elected President of the Building Commissioning Association

SEATTLE, Wash. (Feb. 10, 2022) – McKinstry’s National Technical Services Operations Director, Jesse Sycuro, has been elected president of the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA). During his 15-year membership in the association, Jesse served as a director-at-large, conference committee chair and is a co-author of the association’s Ongoing Commissioning Best Practices document.

Sycuro began his commissioning career at McKinstry in 2005 and devotes his time as operations director of the national technical services team to leading McKinstry in asset management, building commissioning and energy efficiency projects across the country.

For McKinstry, incorporating commissioning into project plans adds value, as it allows us to ensure our clients achieve their goals, optimize building performance and meet regulatory requirements. We deliver a hands-on, solution-oriented approach to commissioning, focusing on operational functionality and performance, ensuring buildings are optimized for energy use, comfort, safety, and operational efficiency.

McKinstry was honored to receive the BCxA’s annual Benner Award in October 2022, which recognizes McKinstry as a leading organization in the commissioning field and for our achievements in helping to make building commissioning “business as usual.” We are proud of our years of engagement with the BCxA, our efforts to promote commissioning as a key performance strategy for the built environment, and our many commissioning projects that exemplify commissioning best practices.

McKinstry celebrates Jesse’s achievement, leadership and dedication to technical services, commissioning and his efforts to amplify the value commissioning work brings to our clients.

“The momentum of our industry is building. Commissioning is at the forefront of current building trends, with direct connection to indoor air quality, building and energy codes, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, utility cost disruption and decarbonization, among many other drivers placing focus on the performance of the built environment. I am thrilled by the opportunity to ensure commissioning is best used as a key resource and strategy for improving building performance.”
