McKinstry Recognizes Safety All-Stars and Safety Champion for 2022

Safety is always our number onepriority, and we are passionate about keeping our people safe.

Our Safety Excellence Recognition Program recognizes and celebrates individual efforts that keep our teammates safe and help move our safety culture forward. For the fifth consecutive year, we are recognizing agroup of Safety All Stars who went above and beyond to own safety.

During the 2022 Winter Connections meeting, CEO Dean Allenhighlighted our 2022Safety Excellence Recognition winners.

“So far this year, we’ve had 367 Safety Excellence recognitions,” Dean said.“I think that’s something important to celebrate. As a part of that, we are going to recognize a group of Safety All Stars who went above and beyond thinking about just their own safety.”

Each all-star is recognized for acts big and small that embody the tenets of our safety program or for personal contributions toward the attainment of our safety goals. Once the recognition is made, the event is classified into one of four safety pillars:

Nick Martwick

Nick was recognized for his outstanding work using McKinstry’s Wait-a-Second safety pillar while on the job.

Nick is a service technician on our Service team in Washington. He was on a phone call with a teammate and picked up on signs that this teammate he was speaking with might be having a stroke. Nick immediately called 911 to get his teammate medical attention and transportation to the nearest hospital. He then took the steps to notify the family and went out to the job site to secure the teammate’s Service van. He stayed in touch to make sure our teammate was okay.

Thank you Nick for having the knowledge to recognize the symptoms and for having the presence of mind to quickly respond and get our teammate the critical care they needed!

Nick was shocked and speechless when the award was announced.

“McKinstry is an amazing, supportive and caring company. The culture and environment are amazing. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity to work with so many amazing people,” said Nick. “I would like to think anyone in this company would do the same as I did. I believe the McKinstry family is one of the best around. I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Congratulations Nick! We can’t wait to see where you choose to travel. Let’s continue to recognize acts of safety excellence! Click here for more information about the program.
