McKinstry Earns State Prequalification for Energy Savings Work in Georgia

McKinstry Strengthens Georgia Market with Energy, Facilities Services Expertise

ATLANTA – (September 10, 2021) – McKinstry, a national design, build, operate and maintain firm, announced it is prequalified as an Energy Services Provider (ESP) in the state of Georgia. This list of independent contractors is licensed by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) to provide Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) and assist Georgia’s state agencies, cities and higher-education institutions in reducing resource consumption while upgrading facilities.

“We are excited for this opportunity to focus on establishing long-term client partnerships across the state by providing innovative energy services and sustainable solutions that have a positive impact on businesses and communities.”, said Marcus Craig, McKinstry’s Vice President of the Southeast region. “This team brings an abundance of experience in energy and facilities, especially in K-12, higher education, and government sectors.”

McKinstry partners with municipalities, state agencies, higher education, hospitals and schools as a prequalified state ESP in 22 states across the country to construct and upgrade facilities while conserving resources and enhancing building use. With more than 2,000 professional and trades staff nationwide, McKinstry has further strengthened its regional presence in the Southeast with this opportunity in Georgia.

The GEFA maintains a list of prequalified ESPs that support Georgia’s various statewide energy programs. The benefits of hiring a highly experienced ESP range from an understanding of the energy challenges faced by State and Federal agencies, to being well-versed in educating communities in sustainability in order to pass necessary bonds for energy systems funding.
