Here’s where you come in:

We are currently seeking an amazing Mission Critical Sales Engineer to join our team as a member of our growing New Construction Mechanical division located in Seattle. 

You’re great at:

Business and Market Development / Client and Account Management:

  • Responsible for lead generation, customer service, proposal development, and developing customer relationships.
  • Analyzes the potential of specific projects while considering changing market conditions. 
  • Acts as the client’s Single Point of Accountability (2 to 3 accounts).
  • Produces accurate estimates, assembles quality proposals and demonstrates good written communication skills utilizing McKinstry guidelines and proposal formats.
  • Partners with internal resources to ensure deliverables meet timelines and requirements.

Preconstruction Support:

  • Own all conceptual estimates for clients and customers under your responsibility.  
  • Manages scope and budget of a portfolio of projects before the project begins construction phase.  
  • Manages design phase through permitting, budget, scope, and risk and opportunities for projects and customers.
  • Leveraging the McKinstry internal resources,  formulates build and construction execution plans.
  • Partners with Project Managers to assure perfect transition between preconstruction and construction
  • Protects/enhances gross margin potential on all projects.

What we would like to see from you:

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in all the responsibilities of a Sales Engineer.  
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management or equivalent business experience required.
  • Five (5) years of experience with a mechanical or electrical construction contractor required.
  • Two (2) years of experience leading and closing sales required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, and estimates required.
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure mechanical and electrical systems required.
  • Knowledge of conceptual estimating preferred.

The pay range for this position is $68,310 - $114,500 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
