San Antonio Critical Environment
At locations in Seattle and San Antonio, McKinstry provides multiple functions to a Northwest-based Fortune 500 Software Company. The main solution is a 7×24 facilities staff, which provides on-site operations and maintenance services 365 days per year for these critical environments. Additionally, McKinstry provides immediate response to abnormal events, as well as scheduled maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems. The buildings’ footprints are approximately 600,000 square feet.
McKinstry hired, trained, certified, and deployed an onsite team of 17 within five months. This team supported the commissioning, construction close-out and start-up of the site. We also provided significant Transition to Sustainable Operations services, including owner’s advocacy, developing critical procedures, implementing base processes, CMMS, and a detailed Engineered Maintenance Plan. We successfully reached the “go-live” date and have maintained 100% uptime since.
McKinstry is also responsible for designing and installing the electrical and data infrastructure at the San Antonio Data Center. We designed and installed (16) – 20 Cabinet Hot Aisle Containment Structures (HACS). Each HAC consisted of a self- supporting Chatsworth’s frame and a subzero fusible link curtain solution. HAC containment provides better overall Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). In addition, we provided the fiber and copper cabling structure, switch port cables, under floor strut work, Flextray structure and materials, patch panel bracket mounting, vertical wire manager Unistrut and all miscellaneous data and electrical materials to support the entire system. Systems include data, electrical, VESDA, controls, monitoring, BMS, EPMS and container integration.
