Winona Micro-turbine

On March 16th the City of Winona dedicated a new micro-turbine fuelled by methane gas capture from its wastewater.  The turbine was installed by McKinstry and designed to produce 268,000 Kilowatts of electricity annually, which is enough to power 25 households.  The electricity generated by the micro-turbine will go to the city’s wastewater treatment facility. The power  it produces virtually eliminates the treatment facility's energy power demand from the grid.  This project is one of many McKinstry is managing as part of its Sustain Winona initiative.
