Oshkosh Area School District
The Oshkosh Area School District, Wisconsin’s 10th largest, recently approved McKinstry to develop and implement phase one of an energy savings performance contract that will include improvements to all of the district’s buildings.
The energy and facility improvements are to include building envelope upgrades, vending misers, interior and exterior lighting, water conservation measures, retro-commissioning, and installation of a cover at two swimming pools. A sizable energy resource conservation program is also being implemented to help staff, students, and the community residents become more energy efficient.
In all, the project is expected to save the district $260,000 a year in utility costs and more than 2.7 million pounds of CO2 emissions. With 0% financing, grants, and other creative financing mechanisms, the project payback is six years.
The development of Phase II is set to begin in concert with the retro-commissioning project.
