Itron EEM Suite Offers Increased Energy Efficiency, Usage Analysis for McKinstry

LIBERTY LAKE, WA — January 2007 — Itron Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI) announced today the implementation of its Enterprise Energy Management Suite™ (EEM) software by McKinstry, a leading energy services and facilities management company headquartered in Seattle, Washington.

McKinstry will offer EEM Suite with its InfoCentre facilities management platform to enhance the way McKinstry manages operations for its customers.  EEM Suite will add a new dimension of energy analysis and monitoring to McKinstry’s capabilities and dramatically increase the impact of its active energy management service.  McKinstry customers can expect significant reductions in energy costs with improved comfort in their facilities.

The Itron EEM Suite combines Bill Analyst™, Meter Data Analyst™ and Advanced Forecasting to empower large energy users — including manufacturers, college campuses, municipalities and government facilities, hospitals and companies with multiple facilities — to achieve efficiencies in energy billing practices, business operations, and usage forecasting. McKinstry will focus on the part of the energy value chain that will drive the highest return on investment for its customers and reduce overall energy costs.

“We were looking for a combination of tools that enhance our ability to provide active energy management to our customers,” said Mikeal Porter, operations manager for McKinstry.  Itron EEM Suite will increase the predictability of energy expenditures, so Porter expects that McKinstry customers will act quickly on the data collected.  Mikeal Porter states, “We are excited about collecting information through EEM Suite to drive intelligent energy decisions and savings.”

“With energy costs and environmental concerns rising together, McKinstry’s actions put them on the front line of innovative resource management and conservation,” said Philip Mezey, Itron’s senior vice president for software solutions. “Itron’s powerful analytical tools will assist McKinstry in saving energy for their customers and running their facilities more efficiently and effectively.”
