As manufacturing and industrial processes continue to grow in complexity, industries have a greater need for construction teams that can understand and meet their unique project requirements. Our integrated design teams partner with clients to achieve efficiencies and lower lifetime costs in industrial facilities, quantifying client desires in terms that meet their business objectives and goals.
McKinstry’s flexible contracting approach enables cost-effective management of both large and small industrial projects across a broad range of sectors, and integrated project delivery gives clients a single point of accountability and maximum control over such critical issues as scope, quality, time, safety and cost.
Different Clients. Different Projects. Different Approaches.
McKinstry’s flexible contracting approach can be customized to meet the unique project needs of every client. Depending on client and project requirements, we offer the following services:
McKinstry offers a variety of consulting services including scheduling, estimating, value engineering, project planning and budget reviews.
The preconstruction phase provides the best opportunity to maximize project success. McKinstry works closely with designers to create a project plan that delivers top quality projects on time and under budget. Our expertise extends beyond construction to include feasibility studies, estimating, scheduling, value engineering and constructability reviews.
McKinstry specializes in project and construction management. Our project manager’s expertise in both the field and the office is enhanced by years of on-site construction experience. Our Construction Management services can be provided in one of two contracting methods:
Agency Construction Management
McKinstry is directly responsible to the owner. We act in the owner’s interest during the design, procurement, construction, start-up and commissioning phases of the project. We also perform all project management roles and provide field supervision and coordination of individual trade contractors. Contracts are managed by McKinstry, but are written directly between owner and designer, equipment vendors and trade contractors.
Construction Management At-risk
Although McKinstry acts as a consultant to the owner throughout the project, contracts are held directly between McKinstry, the designer and the trade contractors. With this contracting method, McKinstry often provides performance and/or price guarantees.
Documentation, Communication & Coordination
McKinstry’s extensive experience has taught us the importance of thorough documentation, effective communication and coordination among team members. To facilitate each of these important tasks, we utilize Primavera’s Contract Manager, a web-based project management program created specifically for the construction industry.
McKinstry’s industrial division draws on an unsurpassed range of in-house expertise that includes an integrated delivery model in which we are the single source of accountability for any project.
