The Getty Images project included tenant improvement of two existing buildings (West Campus). The tenant space consists of offices, open cubicle areas, conference rooms, specialty photo imaging areas, IDF rooms, a Data Center, and a variety of other 24-hour cooling areas, specifically designed for Getty Images, a photo imaging company. As part of the TI, we installed all VAV boxes (approx.
220), low pressure duct and diffusers. At least half of the low pressure duct was exposed in the open office spaces with TMRA diffusers similar to those installed in the McKinstry commons area. Remaining low pressure duct was installed over office areas in the enclosed ceiling space. In addition to the VAV system, we installed a 250 ton fluid cooler on the roof to provide condenser water to (16) heat pumps of varying sizes from 3/4 up to 5 tons of cooling, (3) ceiling mounted Data Aire CRAC units with 6 to 8 tons of cooling and (3) 20 ton Data Aire floor standing computer room units. As part of the fluid cooler installation, we provided two condenser water pumps (lead/lag) with VFDs, as well as a VFD on the fluid cooler fan. Other work included (5) coffee area sinks with disposals, ice maker connections, exhaust fans, a singe stall restroom with water closet and lavatory, a kitchen area with sink disposal and finally an icemaker.
This project was a rather large, complex TI that was started and completed within a 5 month construction period. Architectural ceiling designs called for very little space in which to locate the 200+ VAVs that serve the floors. The sheet metal detailing work was also very challenging. |
