This project was a design build, fast track expansion of the existing facility, which doubled the size of the casino. McKinstry installed a full mechanical package that included several restaurants and bars. The building was designed as buildings within buildings – they are all theme structures, which required special mechanical routing. All the heat generating games required huge amounts of cooling and the owner required 100% outside air to mitigate environmental tobacco smoke with heat recovery.
McKinstry designed the mechanical systems to coordinate with unusual features such as waterfalls, ponds, fountains, false interior building store fronts with roofs, as well as an entertainment area and cigar lounge. Fire protection required special design in order to handle the theme buildings within the main building, including one building with a Polynesian setting including a thatched roof. |
