For more than 25 years McKinstry has maintained in house capability in the areas of both design and installation of control systems which is critical to the success of our design build delivery. Control capability has also been key to our ability to ensure timely completion and quality operation of client facilities while serving as an important link to our ability to service and maintain the mechanical systems of our clients.

In the early 1980’s McKinstry expanded its commitment to the integration of controls into its full service concept by becoming the Washington and Oregon Licensee for the entire Robertshaw control product line. That relationship lasted more than a decade, resulting in literally hundreds of installations throughout the Pacific Northwest. However, as consolidation swept the industry, our clients became focused on servicing multiple systems requiring a McKinstry shift to strategic alliance programs with major control manufacturers.

Today, as a result of the advancements in computer technology, McKinstry boasts its position as one of the two Northwest exclusive dealers of Alerton Technologies, the largest privately owned control manufacturer in the United States. Known for its Windows based progressive hardware and software products, Alerton provides McKinstry a significant opportunity to better serve its clients.
