McKinstry Co. utilizes a
professional project management system, responsible for project control--i.e.,
schedule, cost and quality control. The project manager has no other
responsibilities beyond the successful completion of his/her assigned project.
Each project manager is backed by
the manager of construction, including the division managers at McKinstry;
specifically piping, plumbing, sheet metal, fire protection, fabrication,
estimating, engineering, purchasing and accounting. The project manager brings
the required expertise of the various departments to bear on the needs of the
project.
Our project managers are
well-trained. Regular attendance in applicable classes and seminars held
(in-house and industry associations) keep our team current on all trends. Project
managers are college graduates in either business, engineering, construction
management or other related degrees.
The project manager develops a
detailed project plan covering staffing, budget control, scheduling, equipment
procurement, material selection, quality control, and safety. This plan serves
as the basis for our approach to the project and assures that the company
maintains its commitment to the project goals.
Communication and coordination are the key to successful
projects. McKinstry uses a computer based tool that will allow our clients remote access
to our project team's on-line budgets, schedules, and other relevant data to
facilitate this successful coordination.
