The Westin Building
Responding to an increase in KW-per-square-foot server loads, McKinstry configured and installed a new electrical vault for this high-rise building. We removed an old system on the roof and installed a new 900-ton cooling tower to meet the new electrical load. This new system was tied into the existing system with zero downtime, keeping occupants comfortable.
Getting equipment to the roof was a challenge that required a helicopter. After many coordination meetings with the city, police, fire, barricade, etc., we successfully lifted the equipment to the roof with no incident.
